In this sample video, Tommy Sessions teaches goose hunters how to make the spit note.
“All right guys, as we progress, we get into some of the most fun sounds that geese will make. And one of probably the most common sounds that they make is a spit note. A spit note is used either on the water, can be used in the air, can be used as a comeback call. Geese make it all the time. It’s a very hyper sound, loud, excited. So this sound is going to be a little bit tough, so just stick with us and get it mastered. Okay?
So I’m going to turn this call around and it’s going to be a two part sound. We’re going to ultimately combine these two, but at start we’re going to be two parts. So the first part is K. K. Okay. It’s just a real sharp, not quite a cluck, but it’s just a real sharp high pitch. And then the last little bit of that is… So if we combine those, but it’ll be… So when we combine them, the spit note is… Again, K. Get that mastered, and then… Head on over to the exercises. Give that a shot. We’ll see you there.”
